About SwanseaBay.com

An independent guide to Swansea Bay, written for people who want to know when the tide is out as well as where the view is.

SwanseaBay.com exists to help you get the most out of a visit to Swansea, Mumbles and Gower — not just which beaches are beautiful, but how to reach them without a car, when the causeway to Worm’s Head is open, which tours are worth paying for and where to base yourself.

What we cover

  • How to reach Swansea Bay by train, road, air and sea, with realistic journey times.
  • Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
  • What to see — in the city, in Mumbles, on Gower and on day trips to waterfall country and Laugharne.
  • Where to stay, for every budget and travel style.
  • When to come, and what each season is really like.

How we research

Journey times, opening arrangements and practical details are checked against operators, heritage bodies and booking platforms and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel scores from Trip.com. Where a detail moves around — bus timetables, admission charges, seasonal opening — we say “check current times” rather than pretend to a precision that does not exist.

We are also open about gaps. Bookable tours in Swansea itself are limited, so we tell you which Gower tours leave from Cardiff and how to manage independently instead of inventing options.

How the site is funded

We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and link to Trip.com for accommodation. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placement and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Timetables change, cafés close, paths are diverted. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us via the contact page.
